                              BIOGRAPHY




Paul Christmas studied music at Trinity College of Music in London and the Guildhall School of Music  'Jazz and Studio Course'.
While at Guildhall his teacher (pianist Simon Purcell) asked him to join 'Jazz Train' a 'hard bop' outfit playing some of London's best Jazz Venues.
(Pizza Express, 606, Vortex etc)


Paul also spent several years performing with NYJO
(National Youth Jazz Orchestra) touring the UK and abroad.
(You can hear him soloing on the NYJO Christmas CD)


After spending some time working on the Jazz scene in London and in several West End shows ('5 Guys Named Moe' / 'Elvis') 
Paul moved to Monte Carlo as part of the Tony Evans Orchestra performing at the 'Cabaret' and 'Sporting Club'

In Monte Carlo Paul backed / supported some of the worlds greatest entertainers:

Elton John
Stevie Wonder
Dionne Warwick
Donna Summer
Burt Bacharach
Paul Anka
Whitney Houston
Liza Minnelli


Paul was also a Musical Director /Performer on several luxury cruise ships including the 'Skating on Ice Show' on the worlds largest ship for 'Royal Caribbean' and MD for the 'Sun Vista' based in Singapore cruising around Thailand and Malaysia.


Since returning to the UK Paul has been described as  being one of the most 'musical' and 'gifted' trumpet players in the UK.


He has recently toured the UK with Rick Astley and had several 
TV  performances with:


Gloria Estefan       ('Miami Sound Machine' on X-Factor)
Bette Midler           (BBC Michael Parkinson Show)
Rick Astley             (BBC 'Best of the 80's)
Dionne Warwick    ( ITV Documentary)

Paul also co-runs his own Band with Francesca Matthews (vocals) for all high end function, corporate and wedding packages.

These packages are particularly successful because of their versatility and ability in providing the right kind of music for each event.

The typical wedding package would be:

  • Classical trumpet / vocals for the church service
  • Jazz trio for the reception
  • Party Music for evening
